Insurance Claims

The #1 Kentucky Roofing Repair and Replacement Experts

Residential insurance claims typically arise from fires, floods, storms, or other unexpected events. After damage occurs to your home it is important to involve insurance in order for the insurance company to assess the damage and determined the amount of coverage they can provide. At KISH we help our clients navigate the claims process by providing proper documentation of the damage, estimates on the cost of repairs, and a detailed report, which can help support the policyholder’s claim and maximize their coverage. We are also able to use our expertise to negotiate the scope and cost of repairs directly with your insurance company to make sure you receive the full amount of coverage you are entitled to. This is beneficial to our clients as it minimizes the headache they face throughout the process and maximizes the coverage they get for their home!

For example: When a tree falls on the roof of a house it can damage the roof, gutters, the interior and exterior of the home, as well as the siding of the home. Sometimes adjusters can miss some of the damages as well as the extent and work required to repair them. Therefore, it is important that a contractor with expertise diagnose the damages to the home so that they can be properly presented to the insurance company in order to get the maximum coverage towards the damages. though we can not make guarantees we advocate for our clients and highlight damages that might not be as noticeable based on our expertise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to the questions we receive the most about our Kentucky Insurance Claims. Don’t see your question below? please do not hesitate to contact us. We’ll be happy to help!

  • Do you work with Insurance?

Absolutely from start to finish. During our initial consultation we would take lots of pictures and annotate the damage that we see. An inspection report will be sent to your insurance when requested. Once they finalize their scope of work for the project we would need to revise it to make sure that they noted everything we did in our initial report. Although we are NOT insurance adjusters and can not make promises on what will be covered by insurance we would do our best to document everything we see during the roof inspection to make the process easier for both property owners and insurance agents.

  • Who will file the claim?

The property owner will file the claim. KISH Restoration can NOT and will not attempt to file a claim on behalf of property owners since it is 100% their decision to make.

  • Will my deductible be covered?

Property owners are responsible for paying their deductible to contractor (s) for the work compensated through insurance companies per state law (Ky. Rev. Stat. & 367.628).

  • What are the insurance process steps?

    1. File a claim 2. Adjuster meeting 3. Receive insurance letter stating the acceptance or denial of claim 4. KISH Restoration will review scope 5. Material order will be placed upon approval 8. Production date will be scheduled 9. Production of project 10. Final Walkthrough upon project completion

  • Will KISH Pros be there when the Adjuster comes out?

Absolutely as long as you or the insurance company reaches out to tell us a day and time. If you would like us to be there during the insurance inspection we can meet the insurance adjuster to highlight critical areas and areas of concern.

  • What if insurance denies my claim?

There is always a chance for re-inspection or out of pocket repairs for replacement. KISH Restoration will do everything we can to help you throughout the process whether it is through insurance, financing or an out of pocket cost.

  • What is an Insurance Adjuster?

An insurance adjuster is someone who writes up the scope of work on behalf of your insurance company. Depending on the damages that they see and believe are necessary to repair they will report back to your insurance company and make a decision on the amount of compensation that should be paid for the claim. KISH Pros are not in any way insurance adjusters and we will not be able to tell you how much insurance will or can pay for repairs.

  • What is a supplement?

Supplements are requests that we are able to submit for insurance review. If a supplement is submitted by KISH Restoration there is no guarantee that it will be covered by insurance. However, we can document if additional items were needed or required for the project.

  • What does Recoverable Depreciation mean?

This is the amount of funds that insurance companies will usually hold until completion of the project.

*We are not insurance adjusters and can not represent or act on your behalf. However, we have experience working with many insurance companies and can provide our clients with our professional advice.
